This excavated relic is a “pulled” .58 caliber Confederate Gardner bullet with the iron ball screw still embedded in the nose of the bullet.

The ball screw is designed for the 1841 Mississippi Rifle.

Iron is rusty and lead bullet has gray patina. All is very good condition.

Rare to find the two pieces together. Recovered near Orange, Virginia.  [jet] [ph:L]
