This is an excavated English combination tool for the Enfield musket. It is an iron tool that includes a nipple wrench, and oiler. An additional arm once held a wiper. The iron piece is heavily pitted but has been cleaned and coated.
This piece comes from an old collector and relic hunter (now deceased) who used to dig regularly on private property at Gettysburg and Antietam. Specifically, this item was recovered on the Roulette Farm at Antietam. [jet] [ph:L]
