The face of this button is in very nice condition. The gilt is gone from its surface leaving a light brown patina but otherwise it is perfect. There are no pushes or dents and the “I” was strongly stamped and is clearly visible.

Reverse has no shank and is rusted.

Button was recovered at Chickamauga. [ad] [ph:L]
