Vest front is made of a white corduroy material with a fold-down lapel and double-breasted front, while the reverse is made of white muslin with a size adjustment strap minus the buckle.
The front has two vertical rows of four buttons each. All are general service eagle buttons. The button backs are mostly marked “EXTRA QUALITY” while several are blank. The front also has four horizontal pockets, one on each side of the chest and one at each side of the waist.
The white of the corduroy and muslin has yellowed a bit with age and there is some minor fraying at top of the collar. There is also a good amount of surface dirt scattered here and there but nothing that a gentle hand cleaning could not get rid of.
This is an excellent item for a uniform or G.A.R. display. [ad] [ph:L]
