Badge is surmounted by a large spread-winged eagle over crossed cannons and artillery shells. Reverse has the original pin. Suspended from this top piece is a gold silk ribbon approx. 5.00 inches long.
The top bar has several drops. The first is of brass and is rectangular with a large “GAR” at center with a membership badge superimposed over it. Across the top is a riband that reads “REPRESENTATIVE” with another at bottom that reads “MILWAUKEE.”
The second drop is also brass and shows a Wisconsin badger within a laurel wreath with “57th NATL. ENCAMPMENT 1923.”
The final drop is a bronze circular disc with a bust at center of James W. Willett, Commander-in-Chief. During the war he served as a Private in the 1st US Sharpshooters seeing service during the Peninsula Campaign. Reverse of the drop has a spreadwinged eagle atop a patriotic shield and crossed anchors within a wreath.
Ribbon has some light surface dirt and severe stress separation but the rest is excellent. [ad]
