This commemorative badge has a brass framed button with a lithograph image of Major General Philip Kearny in a cavalry skirmish.

The ribbon measures 3” long and has a manufacturers tag on the back for “The Whitehead & Hoag Co.” Where the tag is located on the ribbon the entire section is rigid. The ribbon is faded and reads in gilt “DENVER/ 1905/ NEW JERSEY”.

Major General Philip Kearny had an extensive military record that extended from his service as a dragoon to the Civil War. He was KIA at Chantilly, Virginia and was known for inadvertently breeching Confederate lines at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run.  [MK] [ph:L]
