Two-piece gilt brass badge with pinback top reading “souvenir” and the lower portion reading REUNION / JUNE / 1-2-3 / 1915 on the arms of the cross, with the Confederate battleflag oriented as a diamond, surrounded by UNITED CONFEDERATE VETERANS / RICHMOND, VA.
This was the 25th annual reunion of the national organization that had started out on a local and regional basis. Schwaab maker’s backmark. Good condition with rubbing to the gilt on the high points and some fading and rubbing to the red and blue of the flag. The mounting on a black mourning ribbon and the orientation of the flag to produce a Roman rather than St. Andrew’s Cross is interesting. [sr] [ph:m]
