Bayonet and scabbard are in very nice clean condition.
The overall measurement of the bayonet is 20.50 inches from pommel to point. The blade itself meas. just under 16 inches long with a 11.75 inch central fuller. The fuller is stamped at center with “REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y.” Blade surface is very bright with very minor light mottling. The true edge is free of any nicks. Both of the ricasso are unmarked.
Base of the grip has an iron guard with “O” ring and “J” shaped quillon. Wood grips are in very good condition with no cracks or chips. Iron pommel has the working button fastener.
Iron scabbard has some hints of the original blue but is now mostly bight with a light patina. Scabbard is free of dents and is complete with the ball finial and throat. Frog is attached and is also very good. Leather shows a good bit of surface finish loss from age but it is still holding strong. [AD] [PH:L]
