Blade is in fair condition. True edge has numerous small nicks long its length. Blued finish is worn slightly in scattered spots.
Underside of the iron counterguard is marked “CAMILLUS, N.Y.” and “USN MK2.” Stampings are nice and deep but there is some light rust in this area.
Leather grip is in very good condition. Just shows some age and surface dirt. Pommel is dark with a hint of rust.
Gray plastic scabbard has gray woven frog with rivets that show rust on their face. Iron throat is marked on front “USN MK2” in two lines while the opposite side has “NORD-4723, B. M. Co. 9 VP” in two lines. Scabbard shows some moderate wear and much dirt from storage. Iron throat and snap tips discolored slightly.
Item needs to be lightly cleaned and oiled. [ad]
