OD canvas bag is complete with the shoulder strap.
Bag has a large central pocket divided into two halves by a canvas divider. The divider itself has two pockets to accommodate small items. The central pocket is closed by a large flap with two straps. The back of the bag has another spacious pocket that buttons closed at the top and there is a small pocket on one end, again with a button closure. All buttons and buckles are present and have all the original finish. Canvas is in excellent condition.
The outer flap of the bag is stenciled with a worn “U.S.” and above that are the initials “R.B.H.” with another set of initials inked over it that look to be “R.X.D.” Below this are inked the last four digits of a serial number “8535” which was changed by the new owner to read “8315.” The underside of the flap is faintly stamped “ATLANTIC PRODUCTS CORP. 1941.”
The underside of the carrying strap is also clearly marked “U.S.” over “R.M.C. 1941.” [ad] [ph:L]

This sword was probably sold by Schuyler, Hartley & Graham of New York. The pattern is pictured in their 1864 catalogue in figures 13 and 16. Rather than have a standard blade, the lightly curved 32 inch blade has "B.K." (Battery K) on the left… (870-447). Learn More »
