Single leather bound volume is in excellent condition. It meas. approx. 7.00 x 10.00 inches and runs approx. 368 pages and contains hundreds of illustrations.
The brown leather covers are embossed in gold on both front and back with a stack of swords, cannons, shells and a spread-winged eagle. The front also has the title in gold that reads “AMES SWORD COMPANY, CHICOPEE, MASS., U.S.A.” The gold embossing is strong and crisp. Covers are worn at corners and edges with light surface dirt scattered throughout.
Interior is clean. Pages are gold edged and binding is good. The illustrations show every type of sword, sword belt, belt slides, hangers, and buckles made by the firm in the 1880’s. Military as well as fraternal. GAR and Sons of Union Veterans are also represented.
A very rare and seldom seen reference book in wonderful condition. [ad]
