This is a nicely done shadow box from an old collection. The framed box measures approximately 15” wide x 20” tall x 4” deep. All of the contents are from Appomattox Court House. A laminated, color copy of a print showing Lee riding off from the court house is mounted as back drop. Each relic is identified by old manual typewriter label.
The primary relic is a large portion of a bugle displayed centrally in the box. It has the reinforced bell which is very typical of Civil War bugles. Other brass relics include the faces of two “US” accoutrement plates, a complete Hardee Hat eagle pin, a saddle shield marked “12 IN / SEAT”, two eagle buttons, and a Confederate block “I” button. Other relics include a length of iron chain and a nice sized bullet in wood.
All are attractively mounted within the shadow box. A good collection of Appomattox-recovered relics. [jet]
Extra shipping required. Does contain glass.
