RARE FULL STANDING VIEW OF A UNION SIGNALMAN

$550.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 490-2268

Image shows an unknown Union soldier posed standing by a chair. He rests his right hand on the chair back and with the same hand holds a dark slouch hat with a creased crown. Clearly visible on the front of the hat is the Signal Corps insignia of crossed signal flags within a black felt oval. The subject also wears a dark shell jacket with matching trousers.

Clarity and contrast are excellent. Paper and mount are very good though the mount corners have been lightly clipped.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for A. G. KEET…HARRISBURG.

Signal Corps images are among the rarest of Civil War photographs and this is a very nice one. [AD]

***Note that we also have available a Signal Corps embroidered bullion insignia as seen on the subject's slouch hat.***
