The body of this shell has moderate to severe pitting with some moderate amounts of surface material loss in the area of the fuse as well as active rust. An examination of the fuse hole shows some of the wooden fuse plug still remains.

This shell was meant for use in the 12 pound smoothbore Napoleon.
