Shell is fired and in good condition. The surface of the body is smooth with some hints of the original Arsenal paint throughout. There is a light coat of rust over the entire surface of the shell but little pitting. The fuse hole in the nose has the remains of the zinc fuse plug.
The sabot is a brass ring with lands and groove marks from firing.
This projectile was meant for use in the 3.67 inch Parrott Rifle.
