Very nice conditioned shell in unfired condition. The body is clean and smooth as are the upper and lower lead sabots. The bottom of the sabot is nicely stamped with “PATENTED & CO AUGUST 12, 1862.” Present in the nose is a brass percussion fuse.
Attached to the side of the shell is a modern label that reads in part “SINGER-NIMMICK ORD. RIFLE DATED 1862 3” SHELL PERCUSSION FUSE.” Label is taped on and shows some wear and age.
