Conical shaped shell with iron nose and intact lead sabot. One side of the sabot displays lands and groves from being fired. The sabot surface also displays 3 or 4 gouges. The bottom is stamped with a patent date of Nov. 13, 1855.

This bolt was meant for use in the 6-lb Sawyer rifled cannon.
