Shell has light surface pitting; a light varnish has been applied. Brass time fuse plug, lead sabot, and base cup are all intact. Base cup has some legible patent wording imprinted, including “HOTCHKISS” and “1855”. There are three flame grooves that run from the base cup through the sabot and body of the shell.
