Brown glazed cloth, measuring 10 x8”, with highly attractive gilt embossed front cover and spine. Exhibits light wear & rubbing at the extremities. Else VG plus, with tight spine and clean text.
Wounded four times during the Civil War, Nelson Miles was awarded the Medal of Honor for gallantry at Chancellorsville, and won later renown as an Indian fighter. Promoted to Lieutenant General, he commanded the U.S. Army through the Spanish-American War, and was the last to hold the post previously occupied by Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan. Superb signed collectible, with magnificent illustrated cover.
