This biography was written by Frank A. Burr who was a veteran that served with the 2nd Michigan Cavalry and illustrated by Richard J. Hinton who saw service as a Lieutenant in the USCT.

Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 8.75 inches and runs 445 pages with the index.

Green cloth hardcovers are decorated with a brown tree branch across the top bearing a single oak leave over a seated engraving of the General as Commander-in-Chief of the Army. The title, “THE LIFE OF GEN. SHERIDAN: ITS ROMANCE AND REALITY” is superimposed over the tree branch. Spine has title and authors names in gold.

Covers show light to moderate edge wear and minor surface dirt.

Interior has a good binding despite the inside front signature being a bit weak. There are numerous illustrations. Pages have slight discoloration from age but overall the book is in good readable condition.  [AD]
