Here is one of the most interestingly shaped 19th century bottles advertising Tippecanoe bitters. As with all Tippecanoe bottles this one is embossed over most of its surface with a wood grain texture along with the word “TIPPECANOE” embossed over the figure of a canoe with “H. H. WARNER & CO.” embossed below it. The back side of the bottle has a long narrow smooth area where a paper label could be attached.
The outside edge of the base is embossed with “PAT. NOV. 20, 83” while under this is “ROCHESTER N.Y.” running in an arc around a number "5" which is at the center of the base. The bottle has a very distinctive applied mushroom shaped lip. This example is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
