Very early specimen of an ale or porter, free blown black glass bottle. These type examples can be found on campsites as early as the War of 1812. This bottle is heavy for its size and is very thick walled. The base has a deep “Kick-Up” and shows a sand ground type pontil.  The bottle stands 8 “tall and measures 3” across the base. There are some mild abrasions present long the sides and neck. No other damages noted.
