A nice example of a classic Civil War era black glass beer or ale bottle imported in large numbers from England by businesses in both the Northern and Southern states.  Stands 9 1/2” tall and diameter of base is 2 1/2”. Embossed letters in base read, “C. W. & Co.” Shows some scuffing and wear; has a ¾” area where a sliver of glass is missing.  [ld]
