Great free blown Revolutionary War era cylinder wine bottle. Sealed to denote ownership by an individual, tavern, or institution. Seal on front is bent, upraised harm with hand holding a broadsword. This symbol is part of the Massachusetts Coat of Arms, adopted by Governor John Hancock and his Council on December 13, 1780. Excellent early style and form wine bottle. Measures 10 1/2" tall, base is 3 1/2 " in diameter.
