Circa 1840's three piece button, coat size. Button depicts the state seal of Massachusetts, an arm holding a sword; "MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER MILITIA". BM: "R & W. ROBINSON / (dot) (star) (dot) (star) (dot) MAKERS (dot) (star) (dot) (star) (dot) / ATTLEBOROUGH / (star) MASS. (star)" dm, solid ring separating inner and outer inscription. Very fine condition, nice bright patina. Shank present & straight. Albert's MS35A4, Tice's MS210D1.
