Non-excavated example of a civilian type (High dome, 18mm) two piece brass coat button, circa 1840’s -1850’s with cut geometric and floral designs on the obverse side. There is a small amount of gold gilt remaining on the surface as well. The shank is present and is in its straight position. Manufacturer’s mark of: SCOVILLS & CO EXTRA. Is located within depressed channel.
