Albert’s CS201. Two part convex button, coat size. Button depicts stippled block "R", intended for Confederate riflemen, manufactured in England and smuggled through the blockade. Riflemen were generally marksmen or sharpshooters. Backmark: "H T & B / (star) MANCHESTER (star)" dm on a very flat back, outer ring of dots. Shank present. Outstanding condition, beautiful bright gilt face. [ld]
