Item Code: 173-2147

This heavy-duty cylindrical implement is a Confederate iron grease bucket carried as part the equipment of an artillery gun crew. The grease bucket measures 7.25 inches in diameter and stands 8.00 inches high. The flat metal cover has a 3.75 inch diameter opening that is capped with a pivoting metal lid that has a curled closure tab. This lid is slightly bent. There is a 10.00 inch long heavy-duty link chain that serves as the bucket handle. Chain has a large 2” diameter O-ring that allows the bucket to be hung from the bottom of the limber. Exterior surface is free of dents.

This item differs from the US version in that a lighter grade iron was used and the lid is flat. Also 99% of the CS arsenal green and black paint remains. The paint color is predominantly black with a green tint to it. Sides of the bucket have some minor chipping.
