Later war bond issued from the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia. The bond is dated March 1, 1864 and is numbered 2261. The center design is of the great seal of the Confederacy, which features an image of George Washington on horseback, based on the monument outside of the Capitol building in Richmond, Virginia. The printer of this bond is Evans & Cogswell of Columbia, South Carolina. At the bottom are 47 coupons. The first was redeemable July 1, 1865 and the last on July 1, 1894. Bond is in good condition and all ink inscriptions are readable. Some faint creases and a few small chips on the edges are present.

Measures 17” x 26”; cardboard backing 22" x 28". [sm]

Extra shipping required if shipped as shown. The item does have fold marks so could be removed from protective backing and folded.
