EXTREMELY NICE CONDITION 1861 DATED SEALED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR

$187.50 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 954-68

The overall appearance of this coin is very pleasing. It is bright but has NOT been cleaned.

The strength of strike on this coin is excellent. The details on the obverse are very clear. Liberty is seated holding a shield that boldly reads “LIBERTY.” She is under an arc of thirteen stars and over the date “1861.” All details are pronounced including the folds in her garments and the individual lines on the shield she holds.

The same can be said of the reverse showing the spread-winged eagle with shield on his chest surrounded by the wording “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “HALF DOL.” All details are crisp.

There is no mint mark visible so it is assumed the coin was produced in Philadelphia.

Coin does not appear to have any scratches only some shadowing around the edges from age.

The item comes encapsulated in a hinged wooden box that meas. approx. 3.50 x 3.25 x 1.25 inches. This in turn is housed in a cardboard box.

Very nice Civil War era coin.  [ad]
