Item is in very good condition. Face is black with reddish overprint. At front center is a train billowing smoke and steam flanked at left by a milkmaid carrying a bucket on her head. The bill is marked a capital “A” above a small “b” and is numbered 8255. Dated June 19, 1862.  Printed by J. T. Paterson of Columbia, South Carolina.

Two stamps on reverse; the first reads “INTEREST PAID / TO 1st JAN. 1863”, the second, “INTEREST PAID TO / 1ST JANUARY 1864 / AT JACKSON”.  [ld]
