Early war bond issued from the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia. The bond is dated May 28, 1862 and is numbered 509. The center image is of George Washington. Printing was done by Hoyer & Ludwig of Richmond.
At the bottom are 7 coupons remaining. The first was redeemable July 1, 1866 and the last on January 1, 1868. Measures 16 ½” x 11”. Bond is in very good condition with faint creases. A few small chips are present on the edges. Yellowing has occurred from age. All ink inscriptions are readable. [sl]
