An original Civil War paper money artifact referred to as a $5.00 State of Mississippi Note with a "Faith of the State’ top of a large "V" overprinted on face. Criswell-listed as a ‘Type A-475" note showing locomotive and rail cars. Single-side printed paper bill is not canceled. Paper condition good with green-tinted face and plain backside. Few edge tears. Bill dated November 1862 and numbered 47612. A circulated bill with few fold creases and some light surface grime.
