An original Civil War paper money artifact referred to as a $5.00 Confederate Treasury Note. Criswell-listed as a ‘Type 36" note with Ceres seated on a cotton bale. Single-side printed paper bill is canceled with two X-marked slits. The paper condition is fair tears and edge fraying. Bill dated Sept 2, 1861 and numbered 100011. A circulated bill with fold creases and surface grime.
