Document is headed with title that reads “FOR USE OF COMPANY A, 2 REGT. EX(CELSIOR) BR(IGADE.) Document is legibly filled out in ink and lists items such as shirts, socks, haversacks, canteens etc... drawn by the Company.
The document is dated November 24, 1862 at Wolf Run Sholes and signed in two places by Captain Patrick Nolan.
Nolan was 26 years old when he was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant in Company A, 71st New York Infantry on June 20, 1861. He was later wounded at Fair Oaks on June 1, 1862 and promoted Captain on August 10 that same year. He was killed in action at Spotsylvania, Virginia on May 8, 1864. [ad]
