This is a sheet of six uncut and unused preprinted Sutler chits.
Each chit bears the heading of “SUTLER’S OFFICE, 6TH REGIMENT OHIO VILUNTEERS” followed by a line for the month day and date with the “186_” already printed. Next line reads “PAYMASTER U.S.A. FOR 6TH REGT. OHIO VOLUNTEERS, PAYTO THE ORDER OF E. KELSEY, SUTLER,____ DOLLARS AND DEDUCT THE AMOUNT FROM PAY DUE ME.” This is followed by a line for the dollar amount and the signature of the Company Commander approving the deduction.
Sheet meas. 8.25 x 13.75 inches and is in very nice condition.
The 6th Ohio saw action at Shiloh, Stones River, Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge and Resaca. [ad]
