Pamphlet is titled in full “A SERMON PREACHED AT CAMBRIDGE, ON THE LORD’S DAY, DECEMBER 29, 1799, OCCASIONED BY THE DEATH OF GEORGE WASHINGTON, COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE AMERICAN ARMIES, AND LATE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” The sermon was written by Abiel Holmes, A. M. Pastor of the First Church in Cambridge and printed by Samuel Hall of Boston in 1800.
The front cover has come loose from the rest of the pamphlet. The top right corner of the loose page as a period ink dedication that reads “MR. (??) MCANDERS FROM HIS FRIEND A.H.” The rest of the pamphlet is bound and is readable.
Item meas. approx. 5.25 8.25 and runs 23 pages. Overall condition is very good. Ink is still dark and pages show only light signs of aging. [ad]
