Elder Jacob King was born in 1796 and passed away 8/9/1862. Settled the Flint river section of Upson County in the southwest Georgia Piedmont, he ministered to the Bethlehem and fellowship churches.
Included is a bond document to the Commissioners Jackson County Georgia, dated “July 3, 1861”, the first Paragraph of which reads as follows—“Know all men by these presents that we S. Clark Taylor and O.D. Hoxie are held and firmly bound unto the Board of Commissioners of Jackson County in the sum of fifty dollars, to be paid to said commissioner upon the following conditions…” Taylor and Hoxie are to view and lay out a road. The document is written on lined paper, in ink, 12.5 x 8. Exhibits fold marks, else entirely VG and entirely legible.
