Pre-printed Form No. 57 - Officers Pay Account. Voucher No. "9", Dated 8 December 1863. 2pp., measuring 7.75 x 8.75". Though the form is yellowed, the printed writing is entirely legible. Not so the inked information, which badly faded & and only partially legible with magnifying glass. Voucher is made out for $360 dollars for the pay period between from August 1st and December 30th, 1863, for an officer of "1st Ky Cavalry" whose last name is "Montgomery." [CW data research lists a 2nd Lieutenant J.B. Montgomery serving with Co. "K", 1st Kentucky [Confederate] cavalry]. Intriguing document for Kentucky Rebs. Invites further research.
