Illustration below depicts illustration below depicting “The Sentinel Firing at Cook and Coppic, As They Were Endeavoring to Escape From the Jail at Charlestown [prior to their execution], on Thursday Night, Dec. 15.” Interior stories include an account of Cook and Coppic’s execution, as well as illustrations of their execution. Also the executions of Green and Copland, two of John Brown’s black followers.
