Front cover features a montage of sketches, captioned “Bayou Navigation in Dixie—From a Sketch by Mr. Theodore R. Davis. With internal story concerning Union troops cutting their way through the Bayous. Other illustrations depict “Admiral Porter’s Second Dummy [gun-boat] Frightening the Rebels at Vicksburg.” Plus a full page depiction of “The Battle At Newbern—Repulse of The Rebels, March 14, 1863”. Also several sketches and much coverage of the Prince of Wales’ [later Edward VII] wedding. [The U.S. public was much more enthralled by English royalty then than now].
Exhibits mounting dots and light chipping along left cover margin. Else VG, w/smooth cover. Solid collectible. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing. [JP]
