Front cover features three Corinth sketches—[1] “Railroad Junction Near Corinth”, [2] “Corinth from Beauregard’s Head-Quarters”, and [3] “Beauregard’s Head-Quarters—Corinth, Mississippi, Now in Possession of Our Troops.” Interior Corinth sketches include [1] “Advance-Guard of Major-General Pope’s Army [Army of the Mississippi], entering Corinth, May 23, 1862.”, and [2] Our Pickets at Farmington Church, Two Miles From Corinth”, and [2] “General Pope’s Troops Throwing Up A magazine Near Farmington.” Also a dramatic full-page sketch of Rebels in retreat in on the Virginia Peninsula: “The Army of the Potomac—The Rebels Evacuating Mechanicsville Under the Fire of Union Batteries.”
Exhibits light chipping along left margin. Minor diagonal crease at upper left of front page. Else VG plus, w/smooth cover. Solid collectible, superb illustrations. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.
