No. 339—Vol. XIV. 16 pp. [1-15], with numerous stories, illustrations and cartoons. Front features lead story on “Our Advance On Yorktown,” accompanied by two illustrations of the war in South Carolina and Virginia: [1] “A Night Picket of a Detachment From General Viele’s Brigade in Boats, Near Dawfuskie Island, Opposite Savannah, GA.” [2] “ General Heinzleman’s Division Proceeding Down the Potomac in Steamers, the Night of the 22d March On Their Way From Alexandria to Fortress Monroe.”  Interior illustrations include two full page depictions McClellan’s Advance in Virginia:  [1] “Union Army…Scene on the Road Between Big Bethel and Yorktown, April 5,” and “The Arrival of General McClellan, April 5, 1862, To Take Personal Command of the Army.”

Exhibits mounting dots on left cover margin, plus a small vertical wrinkle, plus slight soil and yellowing. Else VG, with smooth cover, and entirely legible. Solid collectible.  [Note:  Frank Leslie’s Illustrated and Harper’s Weekly were the illustrated “Newsweek” and “Time” magazines of their day.]  In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [JP]
