-Beverly Tucker, a member of the Confederate Secret Service in Montreal, proclaims his innocence in the assassination plot. President Johnson had offered a reward of $ 25,000 for his arrest. Tucker states Booth spent 9 days in Montreal in late 1864.
Wm Cleary, another member of the Confederate Secret Service in Montreal, also proclaims his innocence. Johnson had offered a $ 10,000 reward for his capture.
-Sherman starts to break up his army after the surrender “Johnny Comes Marching Home” He goes on an inspection tour of his army alone, without his aides.
-List of war supplies captured at Danville, including 52 cannon and the machinery for making muskets the rebels captured at Harpers Ferry in the beginning of the war. [km/ld]
