Front cover features stories and illustrations featuring Schuyler Colfax, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the “Capture of the Steamer “Chesapeake” By British Pirates, December 7, 1863.” Interior illustrations contain a page of scenes of the Army of the Cumberland capturing Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, plus full page sketch depicting the “Capture of Rebels Works at the White House, On Lookout Mountain, November 24, 1863.” Also contains “Lookout Mountain illustration titled, “General Hooker Fighting Among the Clouds.” With double page centerfold Christmas scene featuring a veteran return, “Furlough at Christmas.”

Exhibits mounting dots and chipping of left front margin [& right rear margin]. Else VG, w/ smooth cover. Solid “Lookout Mountain” collectible. Fine issue. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [JP]
