Vol. XV—No.47.  4 pp., 14 x 21.75”, six columns. Exhibits fold-mark, slight center wrinkles, & slight chipping at left margin. Also small type, slightly faded while remaining legible.

Front page made up nearly entirely by advertisement for land, with the right—most columns given over to Foreign News from London and Madrid. Interior columns contain news of South American and “Indian hostilities” at Huntsville, Alabama Territory, Sept. 26. Also stories on “The United States Bank” and “From the West [Kentucky],” and of “Female Intrepidity” with a sword against a retreating intruder.

As well as  reward notices for runaway slaves, and  slave sale advertisements  ,  including the following: “From one to three hundred negroes wanted, by a planter for his own use—who will agree to keep them together and treat them kindly. They would be preferred in large numbers. The advertiser expects to pay cash for them, unless the number be great; in such case some indulgence would be wished, if it could be agreed upon.”

Excellent early 19th Century Richmond newspaper collectible. Will frame handsomely. In protectives sleeve, w/white card backing.  [JP]
