1 page, pre-printed and ink. 5”x8”. Excellent condition, fold lines. Dated June 29th, 1863, Headquarters, Pennsylvania Militia, Adjutant General’s Department, Harrisburg. To Henry Johnson in Muncy, PA, appointing him a “State Mustering Officer.” This order was in response to the state draft call for 60,000 men, issued on June 26th, and necessitated by the Confederate invasion of the north, and the impending battle of Gettysburg.
