This presidential nomination is triple matted in a 26" x 22 1/2" archival frame. It appoints David B. Parker as a U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia for a term of four years. President Grant's signature, in ink, appears quite clearly and distinctly at the lower right. This document also has the embossed original Presidential Seal, in an unusual gray and silver coloration. Also signed by John C. Bancroft Davis as Acting Secretary of State, who served as Assistant Secretary of State for only 6 months during 1873. This document is of a rare form with an unusual and rarely seen style, along with boldly signed autograph as President.
Document is in overall excellent condition; fold lines; no visible damage or staining/foxing.
