[See Hardin, THE AMERICAN BAYONET, pp. 94-95, ills. 70] Maker markings: “Collin & Co. / Hartford / Conn.” “Yataghan” style blade measures 22.5”, overall length with brass hilt: 27 / 375”. Blade bright with slight scratching. Bronze hilt displays slight tarnish, with stamped numerals “3271.” This bayonet was used with Admiral John Dahlgren’s .58 caliber, two banded rifle. Overall condition, fine. An Excellent bayonet collectible.
