Blued blade meas. approx. 16.00 inches long with an unstopped central fuller that runs approx. 12 3/4 inches. The blade surface has a small area of surface pitting about a third of the way down the blade. Edge is free of nicks. Ricasso is marked “U.S. / 203308” on one side while the opposite is marked “R.I.A.” over a bursting bomb over “1911.”
Short iron guard is straight with muzzle ring at top and catch at bottom. Surface is lightly pitted. Contoured wood grips are held by one screw. Grips show light wear. Iron pommel has bird head shape.
Scabbard is covered with brown leather with a matching frog that holds the iron hooks for attaching to Mills belt. Leather is in good condition overall but does show some deterioration at bottom. [ad]
